ALTA ROOFING
What homeowners say

In our customers'
own words

Alta is GAF Certified, an IKO Roof Pro and BBB Accredited. Below are the 6 testimonials customers have published about us, unedited, followed by 7 questions worth asking any roofer who knocks on your door after a storm, us included.

“Working with Josh at Alta Roofing was a breath of fresh air. He was honest, knowledgeable, and always followed through. Our roof replacement went smoothly and was done quickly. It's rare to find someone who actually cares, Josh and the team truly do. Best roofing company in Colorado!”

Kaity

“These guys are top notch and local! Adam and his team at Alta Roofing walked us through the roofing inspection and process every step of the way. They communicated their findings clearly, making sure we were comfortable with their explanations. Would recommend!”

Gigi

“We had a leak in our roof and Alta Roofing answered our phone call! They were fast, affordable, and professional. I highly recommend them as a trusted roofing company for any roof repairs you may need.”

Emily

“Alta Roofing is top notch in my opinion. I will only deal with Alta Roofing from here on out. The staff (Michelle, Nate and Dre) is very knowledgeable, personable, understanding, considerate, compassionate, safe and professional, but above all else they are honest, truthful and real. That means everything to me. They back their product and their work 100 percent. They fought for me and backed me up. I will refer Alta Roofing to everyone I know and meet. Thank you again so much!”

Jason

“Alta Roofing does an amazing job replacing your roof. If you are looking for the right team, contact Michelle Captain. She has integrity and will take care of your home as if it were her own. She gives you an honest report on your roof, shares photos of the damage, and the inspections are free. She knows how to work with your insurance company and recommends the right shingle for Colorado's harsh weather. Ask her how to get a free upgrade to a Class 4 shingle. The team is very respectful of your home and yard, they take before and after photos including aerial drone shots, and they run a magnet over the ground to pick up any stray nails. I highly recommend Alta Roofing!”

Cynthia

“We are selling our home and needed a licensed professional to inspect our roof for structural integrity and hail damage. Thankfully the roof was in great shape and did not need replacing. They found some exposed nails and, without being asked, took it upon themselves to seal them. We could not have had a better experience. Incredibly professional and easy to work with. Would highly recommend!”

Why the reviews sound the same

Notice a theme? Honest, clear, followed through. That is not an accident, it is the whole reason Alta exists. We would rather tell you that you do not have a claim than sell you a roof you do not need, and that is the sentence customers keep repeating back to us.

Before you hire anyone

Seven questions to ask every roofer who knocks.

Storm season brings a lot of out-of-state crews through Colorado Springs and Pueblo. These questions separate the ones who will still be here next winter from the ones who will not. Ask us the same ones.

  • “Are you local, and what is your Colorado address?”

A local business has a local address, local staff and a reason to care about its reputation here. If the answer is a PO box or an out-of-state head office, that is your answer.

  • “Will you put the deductible statement in my contract?”

Colorado Senate Bill 12-038 requires residential roofing contracts over $1,000 to state in writing that the contractor cannot pay, waive or rebate your insurance deductible. If a roofer resists that clause, ask yourself why.

  • “Can I see photographs of your test squares?”

A genuine hail assessment involves marked test squares with counted strikes on each slope, not a walk to the ridge and a verdict. Ask for the photos.

  • “Who pulls the permit, and through which department?”

In this region the answer is the Pikes Peak Regional Building Department, the Pueblo Regional Building Department or the Pueblo County Building Division depending on the address. A roofer who cannot answer that does not work here often.

  • “What is your workmanship warranty, in writing?”

Material warranties come from the manufacturer. The workmanship warranty is the contractor's own promise, and it is only worth what the company behind it is worth. Ours is a lifetime workmanship warranty.

  • “Are you replacing the flashing, or reusing it?”

Reused step flashing, reused pipe boots and reused drip edge are the most common hidden saving in a cheap quote, and the most common source of the next leak.

  • “What happens to my attic ventilation?”

Most manufacturer warranties exclude ventilation-related damage. If a roofer has no answer to this question, your new roof may be outside its warranty from the day it is finished.
